Artist statement
This diptych is a harmonious combination of two paintings, each reflecting the unique culture and spirit of the mountain people.
Together, these paintings tell about the life and traditions of the mountain people, emphasizing their interconnectedness and uniqueness. In this diptych, I showed the outward coldness of the inhabitants of the Caucasus. It is not customary here to show their emotions vividly and show their feelings for each other in public. Therefore, outwardly Caucasians look harsh, but they are gentle and kind with their loved ones. As a part of this nation, I wanted to express it in this diptych.
The paintings are made on canvas on a wooden stretcher. They are covered with a protective varnish. The paintings will be packed in a secure package before shipping.
