About the art
Artist statement
"Monster" explores the thin boundary between fascination and fear, transforming an unsettling image into a symbol of beauty and reinterpretation. The composition presents a female figure in profile, with an imposing dragonfly perched on her back. Its open wings evoke both delicacy and the strangeness of the unknown.
Inspired by dreamlike visions where giant insects appear as overwhelming presences, the image turns that fear into a striking visual element. The scene’s aesthetic, with its references to Art Nouveau and fantasy illustration, frames the creature not as a threat but as an ethereal adornment.
