Artist statement
Lisa Cahill has been an independent studio artist since 2000 and is well known internationally for her kiln formed glass sculptures and installations. Lisa has established her own glass studios in Sydney, Melbourne, and now Canberra, Australia. Many of Lisa's works can be found in public and private collections worldwide. Her large glass installations are highly sought after internationally and include sites-specific works for Tiffany and Co stores (Sydney, Melbourne, Shanghai and Hong Kong), Nobu Hotel (Atlanta) and Swiss luxury watch-maker Vacheron Constantin (Sydney). Her recent foray into painting allows Lisa to continue her exploration of light, landscape and place. Through her art practice Lisa investigates shifts in landscape through both organic processes and human impact. She investigates colour and surface treatment as a means of interpreting place and creating works which act as moments of quiet contemplation.
