Artist statement
Photographed in the iconic and very popular Blackrock DivingTower in Salthill, Galway, in the the west of Ireland.
This original photograph was taken on a hot day during the Easter Break. The diving bay was full of students taking turns to dive off the Pier into the atlantic ocean. The photograph has been retouched to give a nostalgic painterly quality.

Influenced by early photographic techniques, she plays with natural light, long exposures, shadows and reflections. Being inspired by traditional painting methods, the resulting images incorporate techniques borrowed from other disciplines to give her photographs an ephemeral yet timeless quality.
