About the art
Artist statement
Magnus Gjoen is known for his modern take on old masterpieces, and for transforming items typically associated with death or violence into striking works of art.
One of his highly sought-after skulls, Nostalgia of the Season That Just Passed is a modern day momento mori. By juxtaposing his skull with a delicate pattern, Gjoen encourages the observer to consider the fragility of life, and the fine line between life and death.
This hand-finished print is from a limited edition of 5, embossed, signed and numbered by the artist.
The piece comes in two different sizes and four different colourways – sage, pale lemon yellow, glacial blue and cameo pink.
Size (cm): 100 x 100
