About the art
Artist statement
Samuel has been created especially for Magnus Gjoen’s 2022 solo show at Enter Gallery, ‘The History of the Future’ – an exploration of life, love, death and art.
Seemingly drawn directly from an archaeological site, Samuel is covered in camouflage, alluding to the need to protect and hide these treasures to preserve them for future generations.
Gold leaf is used to highlight the correlation between money and war, and the threat that war and conflict poses to our art and our history.
This giclée print is hand-finished with 24ct gold leaf. From a limited edition of 25, the piece is signed and numbered by the artist.
Size (cm): 100 x 30
