Identity Spots | fully embarrassing the self | liberated energy by drawing experience – acrylics on cardboard paper by Marc Schmitz Ser-Od
Our existence is permanent creating space, and we can’t see that space that we are creating, be course it is connected with our identity. If the space of light, that we create by our awareness is including or excluding (something) makes a difference. As we are blind for our own light, we are used to experience our existence in the negation of our environment. (And as we can see now the result of that is negative for the entire planet) But if we accept that setting a light is an inclusion of the connection to the environment we are in the process to make a positive shift.
Clearly identity is the most relevant issue for each of us. To fix the identity, and to believe it might not be possible to change it could be a very negative experience. But it seems not to be wise to make effort in the negation of that identity building process, rather accepting the full self realization as expression of the universe. And feeling responsible and free to experiment with that creativity of circle around the self building process. This expression seen as parallel action as light embarrassing has been the starting point for this drawing project. I try to concentrate on the connection that is there in the moment. while the form takes a shape.
I would prefer not to entitle these drawings as it would limit their expression. There are many references around the theme of circles. One of the strongest to my personal experience is the form of a ger (Mongolian for Yurt). I have followed the circle form in endless expressions either spatial, installation and now in graphical expression.
These time we are used to discuss about alternative energies, about other energy sources than fossils, but we do not discuss how we use our own life energy, and it seems more the question not to loose or not to spoil our life energy, but rater circulate what is there in a self repeating and sustaining way. Since ancient times the space between the atoms was not described as empty, but a field of Qi on a very deep level, that is connected to the base of all existence. The focus is in the moment, in the concentration, in connection and awareness on the non dual mind, the presence of truth and beauty. The self is nothing predictable or stable, it is permanently in the process of (re-)building itself in reaction to our environment using the energy of the sun.
