About the art
Artist statement
Mischief of the highest character!
This collection features vases crafted with a unique technique of pouring liquid silver into double-walled glass, creating a reflective inner shape. The outer shell, made of opaque glass, is painted with contemporary portraits of everyday people—laughing, blowing bubble-gum bubbles, swimming, and sending kisses. The designer broke these painted shapes with a hammer to achieve the fragmentation. This effect makes a penetration of the painted parts with the reflection of reality possible. The blending of two layers of time happens.
Each piece in the Narcissus collection boasts a unique color combination and a one-of-a-kind painted motif. Only the limited number of 14 vases has been created.
