About the art
Artist statement
Why is my subject a Ladybug? Several insect species are endangered on Earth. Insects are more vulnerable than other living beings and their lives are highly dependent on specific climatic conditions and habitats. The ladybird fulfils an important role in the ecosystem by helping to kill plant pests.
This is one of my new works as part of the Void 2099 project, which is dedicated to archiving the insect species.
This painting is done in mixed media, the main object of the painting is a Ladybug, painted in oil, the background has a relief structure, made of ecological materials and covered in black pigment, and depicted embedded in 'now-cooled lava rocks'.
The artwork is titled and signed on the front and also comes with a certificate of authenticity.
The painting is ready to hang and has painted sides.
Thanks for looking!
