About the art
Artist statement
Marisu Solís's work delves into an abstract reinterpretation of the still life, where yellow fruits take center stage in a vibrant chromatic interplay. The artist abandons literal representation to explore the expressiveness of color and gesture, creating a composition where yellow, green, blue, and red intertwine with energetic strokes and suggestive shapes.
Solís explains: "My painting is very emotional and uses spots and fields of color as the main elements of the composition, but the graphic gesture also emerges, merging them." In fact, color acts as an emotional trigger, while the stroke adds rhythm and movement to the scene, transforming the still life into a dynamic setting where perception and emotion merge.
This work does not seek to portray reality, but rather to provoke a sensorial and symbolic experience. The fusion of color and gesture transforms the canvas into a space for artistic exploration, inviting the viewer to discover the hidden essence behind form and color.
It is acrylic and plaster base on linen canvas.
