Artist statement
Convivial Accretion is a small original abstract acrylic painting on a metal panel by California artist Marlene Struss, protected with satin polymer varnish, signed, wired, cradled in stained wood. The painting is an inch deep, so a thin floater frame is recommended.
As the title suggests, even the slow dripping and fusing over the eons that creates stellagtites, rock formations, crystals, and caves is part of a lively everchanging dance that is creation. In this sense, even the stones have a glorious spirit.
