Inspiration
This ceramic wall sculpture is part of a series of six artworks called "Shifting Geometrics". It is a continued exploration into my geometric abstractions.
With this artwork I set out to create a wall sculpture to harness geometric forms thrown on the potter wheel. I wanted to keep the colours simple by just focusing on red, black and white. I used the contrasting forms and colour along with glaze to enhance the contrast in the form.
Traditionally sculpture is seen as a free-standing piece however I wanted to continue to investigate the effects sculpture can have placed on a wall.
This ceramic wall sculpture sits in a frame almost like a painting.
I hope this wall sculpture can inspire curiosity and playfulness into your life.
