About the art
Artist statement
This artwork is distinguished by its sophisticated simplicity. Composed of a set of squares, it uses a monochrome palette of blacks and whites, creating the harmonious contrasts of a checkerboard. Each meticulously arranged square participates in a pixelated pattern drawing a diagonal rectangle, subtly evoking the artistic roots of minimalism and digital art. The structure of the work presents an intriguing interconnection between the squares, giving the impression of a movement stopped in time, where each element seems to dance in mathematical harmony with its neighbors. The black squares sometimes escape from the main frame, blurring the traditional boundaries of the two-dimensional work and adding a sculptural dimension. This strategic arrangement explores the interplay between positive and negative space, inviting the viewer into a visual and intellectual dialogue. Through its precise arrangement and innovative concept, this work questions visual perception and how simple forms can give rise to unexpressed complexity.
