Artist statement
The Sun. No wonder our ancestors revered it. Earth's weather, seasons, climate, and ocean currents are all driven by solar power. This yellow dwarf star, a near perfect sphere of blazing hot gases, holds our solar system together.
On April 8, 2024, the moon passed in front of the sun bringing daytime "night"- a total eclipse- to those in the path of totality. We took a road trip to the zone of totality and were not disappointed. The experience was mind altering and life changing. I hope you get a chance to feel it in your lifetime.
"Eclipse | Totality" 86W x 60H inches when hung together as a diptych on 2 canvases. The full size of each canvas is 65H x 48W inches leaving ample canvas (2.5 inches on each side) to stretch to its 60 H x 43W inch size per panel. They can be displayed with space between each painting, or as a single painting with no space between panels. Each painting can also hang on its own if desired. Please see photos for details.
Each canvas is signed on back and ships in a tube. This is especially safe for larger works. Rolled canvas can be easily stretched (placed onto wooden stretcher bars) by a local framer.
