Artist statement
Gardens grow with abandon. Foliage and flowers explode into masses of goodness and beauty. The weeds, of course, have no problem keeping pace. It's an intoxicating time of year. "In the Garden" is a graphic abstract composed of organic and geometric forms and uplifting energy. It's a prompt to notice the commonplace, everyday things that make you feel alive.
Layered gestural marks interface with black and warm brown forms highlighted by the white background. Please see additional photos for details.
Full size is 47H x 38W inches, leaving ample canvas(2.5 inches per side) to stretch to its 42H x 38W x 1.5D inch image as shown. This striking painting is signed on back and ships in a tube. Rolled works can be easily stretched (placed onto wooden stretcher bars) by a local framer.
