Artist statement
Do you notice small things that happen in a day? Motes of dust that catch the morning light? A breeze across your cheek on a warm day? The sound of crickets at dusk? On a good day, I think most of us do. "Soon" is a graphic abstract composed of organic and geometric forms and uplifting energy. It's a prompt to notice the commonplace, everyday things that make you feel alive.
Layered gestural marks interface with richly colored forms highlighted by the more neutral white/black/gray. Please see additional photos for details.
Full size is 55H x 48W inches, leaving ample canvas to stretch to its 50H x 43W x 1.5D inch image as shown. This striking painting is signed on back and ships in a tube. Rolled works can be easily stretched (for canvas works, placed onto wooden stretcher bars) by a local framer upon arrival.
