Old Vineards (ref. V.065.23)

I am living most of my time surrounded by the unique and exquisite beauty of "Douro Valley" in the North of Portugal, where famous “Port” and “Douro” wines come from. I love to walk through the vineyards, watch, touch and feel their perfume, an wonderful circle of life.
Some old vineyards exhibits their long branches such as an huge embrace between old friends. My journey time of life is just a short journey comparing with theirs. I should thanks them to be patiently waiting and to offer me such amazing opportunity to paint them, mixing the painting of branches in eastern and minimal style strokes with western realistic style leaves and bunches of grapes. This reflects my background technique coming from the knowledge and pratics of eastern painting techniques and traditional calligraphy which I often mix with western aesthetics languages to reach innovative artworks.
This painting was performed in a western style with “China inks” applied on fine rice papers using the traditional eastern brush painting techniques.

The painting is signed “Milla Chang” and will be shipped with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by me and stamped with my personal seal.
