Artist statement
The special effect of the painting "Above the City" is created by a touching combination of an authentic view of Paris and an escape from reality. The flight of fantasy is unrestrained, but at the same time the fantastic is absolutely real and reliable.
This painting is made on a durable 100% linen canvas that has been prepared with acrylic paint ground. The edges of the painting are painted white and have no holes from the staples, so the painting can be stretched onto a stretcher using the gallery wrap method, in which case the frame is not necessary. The painting is shipped removed from the canvas and rolled up in a tube to ensure safe transportation.
