Artist statement
This one came right after 'AI without the A'. Yes, I have always been inspired by the great and tragic Rothko. But of course I put my own spin on it. Essentially a vertical land- or seascape, the 3 rectangles are the main focus. There is a certain kind of roughness to this creation, hence the name.
dozens of layers of paint have been applied to achieve that 'antique' , dreamy feel, the soft contours.
