Artist statement
#2 of a series of 3 130x80cm pieces.
This one was prepared on a raw, un-primed canvas, the first layer was Gesso mixed with saw dust to give it this special texture.
5 objects was the incentive, 3 of them have 3 stripes, 2 of them have 5 stripes. That makes 19 stripes altogether. So, for a change I had somewhat of a plan. The execution was a rather long process. I wanted this piece to look aged and ‘wise’.
