About the art
Artist statement
To celebrate the year of the tiger, a powerful one resting in a flowery meadow. In this painting, Im juxtaposing the masculine strength of this animal with the delicate feminine nature of a field of pink flowers.
This mixed media piece combines many of my ongoing artistic explorations: the influence of Japanese tapestries and chinoiserie, Australian nature and silhouettes, the simplification of shapes and forms and a muted palette of pinks and teals that you see me using throughout this series.
