Currency #205 Our With Your is Kosovo`s Dream

This piece belongs to the "Exchange Currency Series" created by me in 2024, starting from the concept of the "face" on coins.In this case, the piece, crafted in contrasting tones of red and green, represents a profile portrait in which an aggressive intervention with staples, nails, and screws distorts the image, in which the critical Galician phrase "O noso co voso é o sono Kosovo" can be read (Our With Your is Kosovo`s Dream). Conceptually, the artwork is part of a project in which I, drawing from my own experience, explore the theme of foreignness and the sense of 'not being from here.' Furthermore, it connects with the experiences of others who have undergone the challenges of migration.


While conventional coins have a fixed value and typically depict a national figure, my coins showcase anonymous faces and offer variable, often arbitrary, selling values. These coins can function both individually and as panels alongside others from the same series, allowing for the creation of installations as vast as desired.
