Artist statement
Inspired by the concept of eternal return, also known as eternal recurrence, this work visualizes the narrative of this concept using a generative adversarial network, a model of artificial intelligence. Each infinite number of repetitions leaves different signs in self-similar form and across infinite time. The artificial intelligence algorithm runs this thought experiment, repeats it, and is able to generate an infinite number of variations. "Recurrence 511" is part of the series Repeat and Execute.
