About the art
Artist statement
I made this work on a canvas, treated it with the base colour a blue tending to grey, traced the outline of the painting with chalk and only then began to paint with oil colours.
I use oil colour by superimposing many thin layers of appropriately diluted colour to create the effects I want.
Once perfectly dry, I finished the surface with a final coat of varnish to make it UV-resistant.
I represented an old oil container, some tin cups and an aluminium milk container; they are all suspended from the wall by a wire.
I imagined these objects, as in a merry-go-round, moving in a circle and when I look at it I imagine the noise they make as they collide with each other!
I gave the work a bizarre title, because the small cups are fast and chase each other trying to dodge the two larger containers... but I leave it to the viewer to imagine another story... maybe a better one than mine!
I have taken the objects out of their context to place them in a new dimension, that of play.
SOSPESI is the series I started painting in 2022, with which I wish to reflect on the suspended moments that life places before us and, through art, to overcome the barrier of time, to give value to each instant.
The work does not have a frame to create even more of a sense of freedom.
The work is signed on the front and back and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
for shipment outside the EU it is necessary to wait for authorisation from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and this may entail a delay of a few days
