Artist statement
Reference: MANYOSHU vol5, “ Plum Blossom” poem which was the source of the year of “REIWA”. Meaning: Even if the years come and go forever, the plum blossoms will continue to bloom. It is written on traditional craft Japanese paper with a *Rinpa- style pattern, with a composition that incorporates minimalism into the traditional calligraphy format CHIRASHIGAKI( scattered writing. *Rinpa( one of the major historical schools of Japanese painting in 17 century-Azuchi-Momoyama period). A fusion and new expression that incorporates the senses of modern people as well as praise and sympathy for the aesthetic sense of the ancient Japanese. Unreleased new work.
