Artist statement
The Holy Intercession Church, located in the city of Taman in southern Russia, is a unique monument of architecture and spiritual life of the region. Built in 1793, it became the first Cossack temple on the territory of Kuban. This small but very cozy temple has a rich history. Such outstanding personalities as Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin, Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov and Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov prayed within its walls. The temple continues to be an important spiritual center for local residents and attracts many pilgrims and tourists from all over the country.
