About the art
Artist statement
This is acrylic and objects painting on high quality linen and custom made canvas. The style is defined by sculptural use of paint. It is 3-D, built-up mixture of many layers of thick gesso, paint, sand and other materials. I'm inspired by structure of celestial bodies. This one was inspired by surface of Quaoar. It is a non-resonant trans-Neptunian object and possibly a dwarf planet in the Kuiper belt, located in the outermost region of the Solar System. The object was discovered by American astronomers Chad Trujillo and Michael Brown at the Palomar Observatory on 6 June 2002. Object was named after mythological figure from the Native American Tongva people in Southern California. Quaoar is the Tongva creator deity. Finished with a glaze of UV varnish to protect against sunlight and dust damage. The colors may look a little bit different depending on the screen. This artwork is signed and dated on the back. A signed Certificate Of Authenticity will be included with the artwork. Edges are painted so it doesn't require any frame.
Size: 120 H 100 W x 4 cm 47.2" x 35.9" x 1.6"
