In a way I painted this piece for myself... I was envisioning what a perfect living room would look to me and the art I would like in it. I want a room full of light where you can feel the warmth of sunlight and appreciate all the different textures of natural materials. I wanted the artwork to communicate serenity and calmness while also portraying the light and energy that you receive from being in the moment.

I started to paint landscapes because I felt the need to pay homage to the space that has allowed me so much time of reflection. To communicate the things I’ve experienced; I’m so incredibly grateful for my surroundings and nature. I’m thankful for the energy it gives me.

When I look out into nature; out to the mountains and oceans that surround us, I’m filled with a sense of hope and calmness I can’t really describe.

My landscapes have varying levels of abstraction as I interpret and connect to different feelings that I have personally experienced in the outdoors. They depict my emotions reflected in creation.
