The Promise

In a world where vows are worthless, where promises are made to be broken, I still chose to believe it. Because your promise has led me to walk upon this path of Truth.
It keeps me real and dispels the veils of illusion that would otherwise bind me in life, at least.

You made me see that life is worth living when there is promise in it and I see life in your promise. I know I fight for what I love; I chase after the things that make me feel
alive and inspired. You promise you will not taint our love with ghosts from the past. You promise not to let old wounds be opened.

However, most of the people do not understand the promises they are making when they make them. So your declaration of love for me, even if it is a lie, has served as a
bound obligation to my own truthful path. You took me to the heights of perfect loving, the heights that I never wanted to come down. I will continue this path, and this is the
promise I made to myself. I willingly let myself burn.
