Artist statement
Dysphasic is a series of hand-made collages from early 20th century German medical textbooks. I've been chronically ill for much of my life, in ways that affect my speech and memory at times, and it makes dealing with the medical establishment that much more difficult, especially in a country where I don't speak the language. In Dysphasic, the text is incomprehensible, going in every direction and with disruptions at every turn.
