Artist statement
Murph had me on my toes the whole time. He had a low growl the entire shoot but by this time I knew the trainers well enough to know we were safe and Murph was simply in his ‘work mode.’ It went so well, you could sense the mutual respect and admiration between him and his trainer. Sometimes referred to as panthers, they’re actually a leopard that inherited a melanistic gene. The name panther comes from Panthera with the Felidaue family.
