Artist statement
Remi Delaplace has been thinking about the perception of space for several years. Painting as unveiling... Didi Hubermann's remarks around the notions of fog and night to talk about what signals, what is different from meaning, nourished her reflection. Firstly, it creates a foundation in the affect, that is to say in full tone. Then he constructs the painting by working on sketches. The process works by printing a shape which subsequently reveals a background which becomes foreground and forms a figure.
