About the art
Artist statement
My paintings are only named by colour – to leave room for imagination,
interpretation and sensory experience. However, my painter`s eyes see the
world that surrounds me in ways of landscape compositions.
When interpreting the genre of painting landscapes, I have forged my own path.
My artworks are created on canvas, hemp or cotton which is fixed onto wooden
plates and panels. They envolve slowly, layer by layer, using different materials
and often with degree of experimentation. Each step builds on the previous step.
The outcome is a multi-layered, flowing artwork which consists of a choreography
of threads woven into the image space – as a constellation of painting and drawing;
until the artwork has envolved as a composition of colour, shape, texture, surface
and patina.
