Artist statement
Basically I see this design as a visual history of some organization or person. All the experiences we have and what we learn from them have a lot to do with who we are.
Besides being a desk top sculpture this object is an architects tool, a maquette, in that it is made to show exactly what this concept looks like. Most of the time when a sculptor is asked to submit a design it is a drawing on a piece of paper. Here you can see it as it would be in real life. If you put it so your eye level is at the height it would be enlarged to the view is exactly as it would be if you were walking up to it. This is why I took the picture from a low angle so you could get the idea it is meant to be enlarged. A metal fabricator would have it scanned and patterns developed and the sculpture is made from sheet metal of your choice. I sell you this and your fabricator builds it.
