About the art
Artist statement
The National Theatre Of Sao Carlos is an opera house in Lisbon, Portugal. It was opened on June 30, 1793 by Queen Maria I as a replacement for the Tejo Opera House, which was destroyed in the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. The theatre was designed by José da Costa e Silva in the neoclassical style and is one of the most important opera houses in Portugal. It is a beautiful and historic theatre that offers a variety of world-class performances. I was given permission to shoot the theatre when it was empty, it is one of the most beautiful opera houses in Europe.
