The branches are densely intertwined at a height, creating a light curtain of foliage through which light gently seeps. The central space of the painting is flooded with golden radiance, which symbolizes the inner light or the path to something hidden and unattainable. The color palette of delicate greens and yellows creates an atmosphere of peace and muted joy. The painting seems to invite the viewer to look inside himself, to go through this "forest" of his thoughts and emotions in order to find the light of truth or peace.
