Artist statement
This image is a high-key black-and-white Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) photograph depicting the elegant forms of sand dunes in Morocco. The photograph emphasizes the smooth, flowing lines of the dunes, with bright highlights and soft shadows creating a striking contrast. The high-key effect results in a predominantly white and light grey colour palette, lending a sense of purity and tranquillity to the scene. The ICM technique introduces a slight blur, adding a dreamy, abstract quality to the image. This enhances the sense of motion and fluidity, making the dunes appear as though they are gently shifting. The overall effect is a minimalist, serene portrayal of the natural beauty of the Moroccan desert.
