Artist statement
This is an image of a series ICM images of the blue city of Chefchaouen. Please visit my gallery for more options.
This ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) image depicts the medina of Chefchaouen in Morocco, with a dynamic and abstract interpretation. The image features a blend of vertical and horizontal blur, creating an abstract, impressionistic view of the medina. The intentional camera movement transforms the scene into a tapestry of colours and shapes. The image is rich in colour, dominated by various shades of blue, which is characteristic of Chefchaouen. Additionally, there are earthy tones of beige, brown, and terracotta, adding warmth and depth to the composition. The blurred outlines of buildings, rooftops, and windows are visible, but they lack distinct edges. This creates a sense of motion and fluidity, blending the architectural elements into a cohesive, dreamlike scene. The interplay of light and shadow adds contrast and dimension to the image. Bright areas highlight the sunlit parts of the buildings, while darker sections suggest shaded areas, enhancing the sense of depth. The image has a dynamic, vibrant feel, conveying the bustling energy and vivid atmosphere of the Chefchaouen. The abstract forms and colours invite viewers to interpret the scene in their own way. This ICM image of Chefchaouen’s medina captures the essence of the location through a blend of colours, light, and abstract forms, creating a visually engaging and evocative representation of the vibrant Moroccan city.
