Cosmic Tree Mandalas - the essence of being captured in mandalas
The ‘Cosmic Tree Mandalas’ series is inspired by the cross-section of a tree - the symbol of the cyclical order of the universe. The order of the universe is reflected everywhere in nature - in flowers, in snowflakes, in the annual rings of a tree. The mandala structure, this archetypal pattern, tells of the eternal cycle of life, of growth, decay and renewal.
This series of abstract tree disc mandalas is a tribute to this universal order. Made from a specially developed wood paste, it combines matter and symbolism in a special way. The wood paste preserves the essence of the tree - its texture, its strength, its history - and transforms it into a new form. This creates relief-like and organic structures. By reducing the original form to its essence, a space for interpretation and contemplation is created. The fine, concentric lines are reminiscent of time and permanence - they are traces of life, preserved energy that penetrates outwards in layers.
Mandalas have a deep meaning in numerous spiritual traditions. They serve as an anchor point for meditation and self-reflection, promote inner harmony and invite us to return to our own centre. Their symbolism reminds us that even in chaos there is a higher order.
C. G. Jung recognised mandalas as a mirror of the psyche, as a path to inner healing. Viewing, experiencing and engaging with their structure can help to find inner clarity, create calm and establish a sense of harmony - whether in living spaces, surgeries or places of healing.
These works are more than art - they are an invitation to travel within oneself, to explore one's own universe and to recognise the beauty of cyclical existence.
Bundle of 7 mandalas in different sizes, diameter between 22 cm and 27 cm.
