Artist statement
An Abstract wall sculpture, Wheel thrown and altered clay, Fired to Cone 6, bare clay emerging, Forming from a surface. In this series I used Mix media: Clay, Wall Putty & paint on a wooden frame.
This piece is a wall sculpture
Drawings I made at the desert - Geological fractures of powerful tectonic forces at the bowels of earth that appear on the ground through eruption, germination, hatching, and gather within them the power of movement through fracture and change that create the changing route and landscape.
These sights inspire me and resonate within me fracture, transience, transformation, movement.
In this series I use fractures, cracked porcelain parts, which constitute raw material and now receive room and expression, and serve as a starting point for the work.
The sculptural work in this series is a development of the language I create in porcelain – white, abstract organic bodies, in which I seek the hidden in the depth of the shape, beyond the visible. Now the search expands and focuses on the hatching, in the solid which contains, holds, preserves the movement in its form. In addition, I engage in seeking accuracy, conciseness and mainly dosage in the range of opposing values such as movement and silence, eruption and restraint, coverage and uncovering.
I have a need, a passion, to create through the touch of hands and in a constant movement seeking with sensory intuition that expresses and echoes emotional inwardness.
The contact with a substance soothes me and gives vent to pent up forces and allows for new perspectives.
