About the art
Artist statement
This piece is a visual exploration of nature as a living archive, where each stone carries the imprint of time. Two fragments of marble, like remnants of ancient rock formations, are set against the layered surface of slate, creating a new reality—a fragment of a once-whole landscape. The composition balances between stillness and movement: the natural forms retain their raw authenticity while engaging in a dialogue with the new context created by the artist.
In this object, we witness the interplay between geological processes and artistic intervention. The stone fragments can be seen as symbols of both loss and rediscovery, traces of tectonic shifts, or remnants of vanished civilizations. At the same time, the work conveys a sense of stability and completeness, as if capturing a miniature landscape frozen in time.
This piece exists in multiple dimensions—it can function as a tabletop sculpture, an art object interacting with its surrounding space, or as a "painting" where stone becomes the canvas.
