Artist statement
This piece captures the deep silence and cold glow of the polar night in Junkerdal, one of Norway’s remote corners. The combination of rich blues with soft flashes of white and pink light evokes the feeling of endless snowy fields beneath a starry sky. It’s a painting about the tranquility and mysterious beauty of winter beyond the Arctic Circle, where darkness becomes a living and layered element of nature.
