Artist statement
Untitled (Images of Silence XIX) belongs to the series of works entitled "Images of Silence", inspired by the war in former Yugoslavia, exhibited at the Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Center, Athens, Greece and at the Papastrateion Hall, Agrinio, Greece in 1996.
Simple, flat planes of color in electric deep blue hues, deep blacks and occasional fiery reds or deep greens create the composition. The geometry, the color planes and their positioning create perceptions of depth that change depending on the color the eye focuses on.
Work dimensions 200 x 140 cm. Framed dimensions 205 x 145 cm.
