Artist statement
Untitled (Windows and Roads II) belongs to a series of works that has never been exhibited.
The source for its inspiration is the experience the New York’s urbanism, that of walking the long side of its city blocks. These works address the grid and its endless ability for playfulness. The underlying source for the paintings is the geometry of the vertical and horizontal grid used in weaving. The colors refer to impressions of city lights at night and mediterranean kilims.
