Artist statement
The work of the series revealed by light abstracted my personal life.
It expresses the pain of life in childhood as an afterimage of light, comforts itself, and purifies itself with moderation and reflection. The textures that we've repeatedly created by attaching the threads to the canvases in geometric shapes create space and that space is a space for my contemplation to breathe. The texture of the thread can have various visual effects depending on the direction of light. I hope everyone gets energy from life in a place full of light.
The material of the work is made by repeatedly attaching various geometric forms to the canvas with silk, creating a space, and making the threads that have been applied with jesso and acrylic paint solid through several coloring and drying processes. At the end of this work process, finally, make a colored surface with oil paint and repeatedly superimpose the surface to create an afterimage of light.
