Artist statement
This small body of work was inspired by forms in nature, especially in harsh environments where life forms continue to grow, perhaps even thrive, despite conditions that aren’t necessarily nurturing.
Each piece features small papier-mâché sculptures that have been mounted on wood panels painted in acrylic. Texture is present, not only through the sculptures, but also on the surfaces of the wood panels.
