About the art
Artist statement
The Green Ray is named after a movie by French Director Eric Rohmer, "Le Rayon Vert" (1986). In this film, people describe a visual phenomenon which can be observed during a sunset by the sea: The moment in which the sun disappears, for a short instant a green glowing line appears on the horizon. In this painting, the green line stretches over the entire canvas, diving it into two parts like a horizon.
