About the art
Artist statement
Regent Kestrel is from a collection called Royal Park Life, inspired by the wildlife in six of the Royal London Park. Susannah's tonal pencil drawing was printed onto cotton/silk fabric which she hand embroidered colour and texture into. She stitched using a mixture of silk, mat and metallic fine machine embroidery threads to create fine detail.
This artwork was shown as part of an exhibition at The Broderer's Exhibition: The Art of Embroidery at the Bankside Gallery in London.
