I developed The Fading series during the first lockdown for my solo show at Primo Piano in Chiavari Italy " i marmi, what becomes and what remains ", which is still on view until April.
I am interested in the process of transformation of images, where contemporary perceptual processes and the intertwining of analog and digital technology play a special role within my compositions, in which order and chaos, the emergence, breaking, disruption and dissolution of structures are key elements.
The beauty of chance, the unclear authorship and the incalculable errors offered by Google and Photoshop are used in the development of the abstract minimalist paintings. Photographed, they find their way back into the digital world - thus I engage in an ongoing study of images from images of images. This creates new pictorial information that is largely free of cognitively driven processes, exposing the unusual and making it the content of my work.
