About the art
Artist statement
A random moment and the play of light and shadow inspired this painting. It was my first time using UV yellow on canvas, but while painting I didn't see the strange play of this paint. Its light reflects like an aura on the white wall. The painting is actually about a person trying to define themselves. A recurring motif is the black and white checkered surface, reminiscent of a chessboard.
